“You got laid,” Hailey, owner of Taboo and her friend, said as soon as Meghan walked into the café. The woman’s blunt bangs had a stripe of hot pink today as well as another stripe on the other side that fit right into her iced blonde bob.

Meghan came up short at the counter and looked behind her. Thankfully, the place was almost empty, as the rush had ended earlier. Too bad the counter wasn’t quite so empty.

Miranda clapped her hands and did a little chair dance. “It’s about time!”

“Luc, right?” Maya said as she bit into a cookie. “You look all spent and glowy. He gives good glow.”

Meghan was sure her cheeks were a bright red but forced herself to sit down on the other side of Miranda at the end of the bar.

Sierra, who sat near Maya, grinned. “Oh, I’m so happy for you. Luc’s a great guy.”

“I like him,” Callie, one of Montgomery Ink’s tattoo artists and another of Meghan’s friends, added. “He’s coming in for more ink, I think. Maya claimed him, and Austin gave up too easily. I think the bearded bastard is planning something.”

“That’s my husband you’re calling a bearded bastard,” Sierra said with a smile.

“Well, he’s not really a bastard, but I liked the ring of it.” Callie grinned and took a sip of her milkshake.

Sierra closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. “Why didn’t I just stay home? I have bills, chores, laundry, and work to do. I don’t have time to deal with this.”

Miranda leaned into her side and wrapped her arm around Meghan’s waist. “You love us. Come on. You never used to hang with us like this. Now we can talk about everything.”

“And she does mean everything,” Hailey said as she set a red velvet cupcake and coffee in front of Miranda. The woman always knew what Meghan wanted without her saying it. Made for good business, even if it startled her from time to time. “Last time I got to hear all about Decker’s love for tabletops.”

Meghan groaned. “That’s my baby sister, folks. Can we not talk about sex?”

“But you got some,” Maya said. “That’s a good thing. It’s about time you had your pipes cleaned.”

Meghan choked on her cupcake, even as the other woman laughed and pushed at Maya. “Jesus Christ, Maya. I think you need to leave the shop more if that’s what you call it.”

Maya grinned then flicked her tongue ring against her lips. “I can’t help it. I like watching you get all stern-mother when I do. Anyway, I’m glad you’re finally hitting that. He’s a good man. You two look good together.”

Meghan didn’t want to talk about this. She was still reeling over the fact that she’d had sex to begin with. Good sex. Fantastic sex.
